My Story
Greetings plant lovers, I’m Mary. I’m a queer herbalist that currently lives on Washo land here in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Sierras are my birthplace and my greatest teachers. After years of struggling with chronic disease in my early 20’s, I was led to begin my work as a Clinical Herbalist +RCP practitioner. I found myself at the crisis of my own healing, wanting to support my body deeper and more fully. I was called back to nature. Through my re -connection to the earth and its beings, I found myself in a place of tremendous growth. This journey of growth has inspired me to share my passion for cultivating Vitality through the healing power of nature with others. I honor the Earth, my family, my ancestors and my teachers, for helping to guide me to be on this path.
I am fortunate to have attended the National University of Natural Medicine, where I received a degree in Integrative Health. I also attended the Acorn School of Medical Herbalism where I was fortunate to learn from Heather Luna, and Paul Bergner under the foundations of Western Herbalism and Vitalism I continue to study with Ember Peters, Stascha Stahl and Vilde Chaya of Wild Current Herbs and deepen my connection to the plants and how I show up as a practitioner. Most recently I became a RCP practitioner through the Root Cause Protocol to dive deeper into how I can support my family and my community through remineralization.
I practice here in the Sierras as a clinical herbalist and RCP practitioner, where much of my work is dedicated to connecting with the land and making medicine for the people. I also enjoy teaching classes here locally in the greater Reno area, and working with clients one on one for wellness consultations. I love working with clients and supporting people through working with plant medicines and holistic and natural means. I also offer sliding scale consults to BIPOC folx on a monthly basis and I am constantly striving to find ways to share and make herbal medicines accessible to all.
My roots run deep in the Sierra Nevadas , and my intention is to continue to form connections with the land I inhabit, while supporting and helping to guide the ones that share space on this land with me.
